Kalen Biomedical offers human and animal lipoprotein depleted sera for use in cell culture. The sera are prepared by ultracentrifugation in a potassium bromide solution followed by removal of the fraction with a density less than 1.25 g/mL. The lipoprotein depleted serum is dialyzed against PBS and frozen. The removal of lipoproteins from the product is assessed by agarose gel electrophoresis.
