Lipoprotein Depleted Sera

Kalen Biomedical offers human and animal lipoprotein depleted sera for use in cell culture. The sera are prepared by ultracentrifugation in a potassium bromide solution followed by removal of the fraction with a density less than 1.25 g/mL. The lipoprotein depleted serum is dialyzed against PBS and frozen. The removal of lipoproteins from the product is assessed by agarose gel electrophoresis.

The product is made from USDA approved US origin Fetal Bovine Sera, processed in FDA licensed facilities. The protein concentration is adjusted to approximately 35.0 mg/mL with Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS).

Human sera from male, blood type AB donors, that tested negative for HBsAG, HIV 1/2, HCV, HIV-1 AG or HIV-1 NAT, ALT, HCV and Syphilis. The serum protein concentration is adjusted to approximately 35.0 mg/mL with Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS).
